Our Team
We are proud to be a second generation family business serving the community for over 20 years! Jerry Thomas started Specialized Cleaning & Restoration Inc in 1992 in a small shop with one office. He started with one van, a few air movers and dehumidifiers. Since then Jerry become known throughout the area as an industry expert who is passionate about his work. After several moves to bigger and bigger facilities, he finally built his dream facility in 2001. In 2001 Seth Sandness (son-in-law and current co-owner) started working at Specialized as a technician. Seth is now the President and Co-Owner of Specialized and has managed projects over $2.5 million. Jerry’s two daughters started working for the company in 2003 and 2005. Amber and Stacey have worked in all areas of the company. Stacey is now the Vice President and Co-Owner. Today, Specialized occupies a 16,000 sf fully secured facility with an indoor operation for rug cleaning, blind cleaning and ultrasonic restoration plus heated storage for contents. We are also proud to have on-location the largest amount of drying equipment in the state! Jerry THomas
Jerry is the founder of Specialized Cleaning & Restoration Inc. He joined the industry and started the business in 1992. SCR Inc. successfully completed many major flood, water, smoke and mold projects that have been into the six figures. Our greatest pride is our customer satisfaction and the time and money we can save them. SCR Inc. strives to be extremely pro-active in our approach to training and equipment. Yesterday’s training and equipment will not survive in today or tomorrows world.

Seth Sandness
Seth started at Specialized Cleaning in 2001 as a carpet technician and had worked his way through all area of the company. Seth has been the General Manager on all major jobs since 2003, has managed claim over $2.5 million. He is the current President and Co-Owner of Specialized. His technical and personal skills are of the highest degree. “I may not have done it before but I am sure I can figure it out” is a quote by Seth that proves his attitude towards hard work and willingness to provide great service to his clients reaches beyond the desk.

Stacey Thomas-Pahlke
Since is the current Vice President and Co-Owner of Specialized. She has become very active in the IAQ (Indoor Air Quality) aspect of our industry and has obtained her Certified Indoor Environmentalist certification as well as many others. Stacey graduated cum laude with a bachelor’s of science degree from the University of Mary and received honors from the Harold Schafer Leadership Academy in healthcare. Although as a teenager she thought she would never work with her dad, after college she joined the Specialized team and hasn’t looked back. Stacey has a commitment to the family business as well as the community. She has served in several leadership positions for the Bismarck-Mandan Young Professionals Network including VP, President and Chairwoman, served on the American Red Cross Board, Co-Chair of the Mayor’s Livability Summit (2017), University of Mary Board of Regents, Missouri Valley YMCA Board of Directors and served on the Miss America Welcome Home Committee.

Amber Sandness
Amber is a graduate from Dickinson State University with a degree in business administration. She is a Veteran of the United States Army Reserves and was deployed to Africa in 2003. After returning from Africa, she focused her attention on growing the family business. In January 2016, Amber decided to step away from the Specialized family business and pursue a career in real estate. In her real estate career she has received awards for Rookie of the Year and Diamond Level Producer. Amber continues to excel in real estate being awarded top producer for 9 years.
Amber and Seth have four kids and enjoy boating in the summer and attending their kid’s activities.
